first a small apology – while i did not forget to include his name in the written material for this edition, or in the initial list of artists at the top of the show in the audio, on listening now i realise i forgot to mention kevin miller‘s piece, which closed out this edition, when giving out the details of the works in the show at the halfway point. kevin records works for guitar in collaboration with site-specific environments, the one in this show combines the tinkling of guitar strings with the tinkling of water and waterbirds. you can find more of his work back in edition #867 from late last year.
we also began exploring the solo work of melissa pons, whose wonderful gruenrekorder collaboration with nils mosh was featured on the program earlier this year (#876). and we heard from renata roman, who hasn’t been on the show since 2019, (#686), gaël segalen (#710), and francisco meirino (#768), while we finally got a first submission into the program from mark gorney, which has been waiting patiently for many months, and began the program with a framework intro recorded for us by steve barsotti (whose wonderful edition of framework:afield aired earlier this year).
