this is in a way our first regular edition of 2024, after two weeks of tributes to the great phill niblock, who passed away on the 8th on january. we’re glad to finally get to some of these recordings; the newest offering from longtime show favorite jeph jerman (check out the special edition we produced about his work way back in 2004), and one we missed when it first came out a few years ago on ferns recordings, mike vernusky‘s aatma. mike is new to our airwaves, as is adela mede, but beatriz ferreyra is returning for a second spin after we heard her split LP with natasha barrett back in 2021. this was all accompanied by our first exploration of the aporee soundmaps of the year, and began with a framework introduction recorded for us in the united states by mykel boyd, half of the duo post doom romance, who contributed to our most recent issue of framework:seasonal, still available here.
