well folks, with the last show of the season we hit another landmark: 900 editions of framework radio! edition #001 aired on the 14th of june, 2002, live from resonancefm‘s original denmark street studios in london, with my young and inexperienced self and my slightly more capable co-host joel stern at the helm. and now edition #900 – 900! – closes out the 2024 summer season, as we prepare to take a few weeks off to rest and recharge our ears (not to mention reseal the kitchen sink and finish building some window screens). so we’ll be back with edition #901 on the 15th of september – in the meantime, there are approximately 750 shows in the archive for your streaming delight, so you’ll be able to get your field recording fix while we’re busy hitting our thumbs with hammers and swearing. we hope you enjoy listening to #900 as much as we enjoyed making it.
we hit another landmark this week as well, passing the 70% mark of our current funding goal for the first time! there are a lot of things we are committed to doing if we ever hit that goal – improving the website, completing the online archive (still around 150 shows missing), designing and building the framework intro map… very simply, these are all things that we can’t afford to dedicate time to before we hit that financial target. so if you like the show, and any of those improvements sound like things you would enjoy, now is the time to help us turn that 70% into 100%!
in this edition we’re featuring our current favorite new release, karen power‘s series of compositions for the quiet music ensemble, for instruments and environments released on other minds records, as well as the latest release from long-time favorite of the show lloyd dunn, aka nula.cc. also some meditative summery sounds from japan’s iu takahashi, the latest release (one of the latest two, anyhow) from belgium label unfathomless, and our latest selection of listener-chosen favorites from the aporee maps.
