this edition of framework:afield has been produced by france jobin as the 6th installment of her regular series, my favorite things. this is the 2nd of two parts featuring live recordings from canada’s send + receive festival. france says:
Bonjour, I am france jobin, better know as i8u. Welcome to “these are a few of my favorite things”.
As mentioned in earlier installments, my interpretation of field recording based works, is very broad however, the thread I like to follow is to find artists who have mastered their unique identity through the music of sound.
Here we continue with our focus on send and receive, a festival that has taken place in Winnipeg, Canada for the last 10 years. We will cover another 9 live performances from 2005 to 2008.
In the fall of 2009, S+R issued a dvd, 10 years of sound, what follows are excerpts of those live performances.
